Hello, I'm Alicia

I am the founder of Inward Parenting, creator of "I Am Alicia Journal," and a proud single mom to two amazing children.

With a background in project management and years of experience across various industries, I, like many others, felt a deep pull to pursue something more meaningful—something that truly aligned with my heart.

My journey as a single mom inspired me to share my experiences and support others on similar paths. This passion gave rise to Inward Parenting—a nurturing space designed to inspire growth, foster meaningful connections, and embrace the beauty of mindful parenting.

My Story - What inspired me to start Inward Parenting

I had a lot of burdens as a young single mom. and I didn’t understand the importance of gaining key knowledge like, how to manage my emotions, how to save money and build my credit, and how to protect my heart and create healthy boundaries. It felt like weight of the world was on my shoulders, I was lonely and isolated and this was not something I had the tools to handle. So I became numb, detached living my life on what felt like auto-pilot.

I would walk up a hill with my baby in the pushchair, take him to a nursery I could not a afford. Go to a job that did not pay enough to cover the bills. I always felt like I was playing catch-up. I never seemed to have enough energy, resources, money, or even enough or time. One day I get home, and I look down at my feet, its another dreaded bill. I opened the bill and am so stunned by the amount that I lean my back against the wall to find my strength and end up sliding down the wall overcome with tears. My son comes over to me and he pats me on the back and says, don’t cry mommy, its going to be ok. At 21 years old, single motherhood had brought me to my breaking point.

The truth is there were many other moments as a single mom where I felt like this. This is why I created Inward parenting, it’s about learning about yourself and trying to make things a little easier as you navigate through parenting.
